ZONE 9 SPEAK-OUT:

On Monday, March 31st, our club is hosted the zone 9 speak-out with three speakers. Clubs with speakers were Liverpool, New Germany and Chester Basin/New Ross/Chester. First place was taken by Stevenson Lawrence, representing the New Germany & Area Lions Club, who spoke on the topic: "My Life, My World, My Mom": Jeanne Lafor, representing the Liverpool Lions Club placed second with a speech about: "A German Resistance in WW II"; Neal Broome, representing the CB/NR/C Lions Club, spoke about "Craig Kielburger", was the third place finisher.

Stevenson Lawrence will now reprsent zone 9 at the district speak-out to be held at the Nova Scotia Convention in Amherst on April 26th.

Judges were John Leefe, Alex MacLeod and Christine Ford.



LIONS QUEST BANNER PATCH: At the 3rd zone meeting held at Riverport, PDG Charles Uhlman, Lions Quest coordinator, presented KL George Mitchell of the Liverpool Lions Club with a banner patch in recognition of that club's financial contribution to the Lions Quest workshops.


PEACE POSTER WINNER: Chairman, Lion Tanis Bryson presented a plaque and cheque to Lion Bob Trainor of the Liverpool Lions Club. Cassidy Pye, sponsored by the Liverpool Club, was the 1st place winner in the N-2 Peace Poster Contest. Her poster will now go to the MD "N"contest in Charlottetown in May.

SPEAK-OUT CONTESTANT: Jeanne Lafon, Liverpool Regional High School shown receiving her trophy, certificate and cheque from Zone Chairman Sandra Zwicker, represented our club and placed second in the recent zone 9 speak-out.
